"In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did that which was right in his own eyes." ( Judecătorii 17: 6,18: 1, 21:25).
Judges 9: 5 - Abimelech's plot
This is the first mention of a barbaric atrocity, that was horribly repeated, in the despotic countries of the East - that of a son of the deceased monarch usurping the throne and hurrying to confirm possession of the throne - following the massacre of legitimate competitors. Abimelech killed his brothers on the same stone — I have read that perhaps the Shechemites (Judges 9:24) —who served Baal, they did so to revenge for the demolition of Baal's altar by their father, Gideon.
Judges 9: 7-15 - The parable of Jotham
I thought that the initial options (olive tree- fatness/anointment, fig tree- sweetness and vine - wine) were truly representing the characteristics of a king like Him - rightful heir, loving, prepared to sacrifice.
Do you know how many judges are mentioned? (I did not take Abimelech or Jotham into account) .. 12 judges? I liked the number

The cycle of apostasy, slavery, repentance, deliverance is repeated 7 times in the book of Judges (2:19, 3: 7, 4: 1; 6: 1, 8:33, 10: 6, 13: 1) .. how sad that they lost the fight ... but also the lesson!
